Earth Day Seed Paper
How to Make Seed Paper
At Me Oh My we go through a lot of eggs and apples, so I had plenty of that type of cardboard to work with.
At home just one carton will make you quite a bit of paper.
I began by ripping the cardboard into small parts and soaking it overnight in water.
Cardboard with color can add a fun twist similar to our lovely violet color that comes from the apples we order.
After a good long soak, I blended up the cardboard in the blender until it was smooth. I don’t have a traditional paper frame, so instead I just poured the pulp onto the trampoline where it could drain and dry.
While the pulp was wet I sprinkled the seeds onto the paper. After a couple of hours of draining I took a rolling pin and gently rolled over the pulp to push the seeds into the paper
deeper.
I left the pulp on the trampoline overnight and when I woke up my 8 year old went and jumped on the tramp, losening up all the dried beautiful violet paper with thousands of wildflower seeds.
To use the seed paper you can just place it in the dirt and water.
